Riverland Community College has been awarded a 2025-2030 TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. A TRIO college since 2015, the award continues Riverland’s long-standing commitment to advancing college access, retention and graduation for first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities.
The inclusive Student Support Services program is one of seven federal TRIO programs that help students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in higher education. The grant provides funding for services that include academic tutoring, financial aid advising, course selection support, transfer guidance, mentoring, and career counseling. Students also benefit from cultural experiences and workshops that build skills for success in college and beyond.
“This grant reaffirms Riverland’s dedication to student success and ensuring economic mobility is within reach of all of our students,” said Kat Linaker, president of Riverland Community College. “Through TRIO Student Support Services, we provide essential resources that help students achieve their academic and career goals, while strengthening the communities we serve.”
The grant will fund Riverland’s Student Support Services program through August 2030, pending annual renewal based on program progress.
