Nominations are open for the 2022 Riverland Community College Distinguished Alumni Award which recognizes contributions Riverland alumni make and increases the pride all alumni, students, staff and faculty have for Riverland.
Riverland Community College Foundation recently hosted a dedication ceremony, naming the Physics Lab after Charles E. Jahren, acknowledging Jahren and the professional life he dedicated to teaching physics, earth science, math, and chemistry at Austin Community College. He served for 40 years impacting and inspiring countless young adults from this region to develop a curiosity for the natural world and find success in reaching their educational goals.
Nominations opened recently for the 2020 Riverland Community College Distinguished Alumni Award which recognizes contributions Riverland alumni make and increases the pride all alumni, students, staff and faculty have for Riverland.
Dani-Annkay Magulado, a business major from Riverland Community College is one of 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named a 2019 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
On Wednesday, The Hormel Foundation officially kicked off a program to offer all qualifying seniors from Austin public and private schools full scholarships to Riverland Community College.

Nominations are opened this week for the 2018 Riverland Community College Distinguished Alumni Award which recognizes contributions Riverland alumni make and increases the pride all alumni, students, staff and faculty have for Riverland.
The award is bestowed on an individual who attended Riverland and has distinguished himself or herself. Since 1979, 22 Distinguished Alumni Awards have been conferred.

The Riverland Community College Foundation recently held their Evening of Excellence Scholarship Ceremony bringing together more than 450 students, donors, family, friends, and Riverland employees to celebrate students receiving scholarships during the 2016-17 academic year. To date this year, the Riverland Community College Foundation has awarded 500 scholarships valued at more than $470,000 to Riverland students. These funds are sponsored by the local individuals, organizations, and businesses.
A snowplow donation from the Minnesota Department of Transportation to Riverland Community College’s truck driving program is expected to aid students and the state’s transportation agency.
Lowe’s and SkillsUSA to advance career and technical education through community improvement projects. Lowe’s has awarded a $22,260 grant to the SkillsUSA Chapter at Riverland Community College to help Austin homeowners in need.
