Topics included charting the future of customized training, registration vendor selection, utilizing customer relationship management software and other current issues. The event included networking opportunities for consortium members to create and enhance relationships with consortium colleagues. In addition, Riverland’s own Peggy Young, Customized Training consultant, facilitated a discussion on sales best practices and Celeste Ruble, Riverlland vice president of employee and technology resources welcomed attendees to the Owatonna campus.
With almost 30 attendees, the consortium proved to be a stimulating and encouraging opportunity for members to work towards synergistic collaboration, sharing of resources, effectively addressing industry needs, and non-duplication of efforts. This event is planned to be held annually with the next consortium in January 2017 at Minnestoa State Southeast Technical College in Winona.
“Riverland Community College’s department of Customized Training & Education looks forward to continue being active in the Southeast Minnesota Training Consortium and supporting future initiatives to coordinate best-in-class training for stakeholders throughout the region,” said Kenneth Johnson, Riverland director of customized training, business solutions and entrepreneurship.
