Proceeds from the event funds scholarships for Riverland Community College students in Southern MN; over the years, the Scholarship Golf Classic has raised more than $125,000 for Riverland students.

Doherty Staffing Solutions and Riverland Community College Foundation are working together to raise scholarship dollars for Riverland Community College students.

Funds raised from the Scholarship Golf Classic—now in its seventh year—will go to scholarships for Riverland Community College students. In October, Doherty presented Riverland with a $20,000 check from the 2012 Scholarship Golf Classic. Last year’s sponsors included Fidelity Bank, Beth and John Fondell, Gopher Sport, Jennings Family Foundation, Insurance Applications Group, LLC, Jostens, Loffler Companies, Plaza Morena Restaurant, Riverland Community College, SPX Corporation, TPS Insurance Agency, Truth Hardware, US Bank, Viracon, Dan Gorman, Gauher Mohammad, and Tim and Val Doherty.

Over the years, the Scholarship Golf Classic has raised more than $125,000 for Riverland students.

Each year, approximately 700 students graduate from Riverland Community College. Eighty percent of them stay in the area, and 94 percent find jobs in various fields, including welding, machining, and forklift operations.

7th Annual Scholarship Golf Classic information

Registration is now open to participate in the tournament, which will be a four-person scramble. Golfers are welcome to bring partners or they can be assigned to a foursome. Sponsorships range from dinner only for one person ($40) to Double Eagle 2-foursome sponsorships ($2500) that include 8 golf entries, 8 carts, and 8 dinners at reserved tables, as well as recognition at the event.
