The Administrative Assistant degree is designed to develop technical and communications skills required in the office of today. The degree prepares you for success in all of these areas through coursework in office management, document production, computer technologies, and business communications. In addition, this program allows the flexibility to choose additional Minnesota Transfer Curriculum coursework to compliment your skills.
The Advanced Office Specialist diploma provides students with the skills necessary to excel in the office environment. Students specialize in keyboarding, word processing, office communications, integrating applications, and office procedures. Students are encouraged to develop individual areas of interest through elective courses and a possible internship opportunity.
The Computer Applications certificate is ideal for students who are interested in pursuing an office position, or for seasoned-professionals that are interested in updating and/or enhancing their computer skills. Your training will focus on operating systems/environments, word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, preparing/presenting multi-media business presentations, and Internet-based applications.
This Riverland program prepares you for employment focusing around client relations. The role of a customer relations assistant involves handling telephone calls, greeting visitors and determining their needs, and scheduling appointments.
Desktop Publishing and Digital Publications is a challenging and creative career. Strong computer skills and previous business experience are distinct advantages in this profession. It is important that you are already proficient in keyboarding before entering this program. This certificate provides a unique opportunity to combine design concepts and creative writing with high computer proficiency to produce effective marketing materials such as: newsletters, brochures, basic web pages, and announcements.
