Riverland's Public Safety is accredited by the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (POST). Students who complete the Associate of Science degree and an approved Skills training program through a POST provider will be eligible to test for Peace Officer licensure. Following successful completion of this program, our graduates can secure good jobs throughout the United States.

With the addition of the Non-POST eligible A.S. degree students are now able to achieve their degree in Peace Officer / Public Safety without the added expense of SKILLS. This change means students may not seek initial employment in Minnesota but can seek their first job in other states.

Further Education: This program also establishes the groundwork for further education to obtain a Bachelor's degree or higher.
