Some types of aid do not need to be repaid, while others may require repayment or allow you to earn money while attending school. Understanding the different options available can help you choose the best combination to support your education and reduce out-of-pocket costs.

Loans are financial aid funds that must be repaid after you complete your education or cease to be enrolled in at least six credits.
A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further their education. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award. Scholarship money is not required to be repaid.
Student employment is an excellent opportunity for students to earn extra money to pay for school related expenses and gain experience in an educational/work environment. There are many positions available both on and off campus in a variety of disciplines that require minimal experience and provide a flexible work schedule.
