"Campbell and Cich"

Outside of their work at Riverland Community College, Dr. Richard Campbell, English instructor, and Keith Cich, assistant librarian, have been creating visually strong and thought-provoking artwork. After showing side by side at last summer’s Austin ArtWorks festival, this exhibit brings their work together in a gallery setting for the first time.

Richard Campbell’s tile mosaics show growth and evolution through a series of stylistic changes. This exhibit features both traditional “Greenman” imagery and lighter pieces influenced by early twentieth-century styles such as cubism and Kandinsky’s early abstraction. His work is known for rich texture, intricate shapes, and creative use of the medium.

Keith Cich’s photographic project revisits locations connected to the Dakota Conflict of 1862. These works invite reflection on change over time and the relationship between that violent period and the present day. Keith holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and has exhibited his work many times. He also received a SEMAC grant in support of this exhibition.
