How the Program Works
Riverland's CDL program is designed to move quickly and fit your schedule.
- Step 1: Complete online theory training
- Step 2: Get your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)
- Step 3: Register for behind-the-wheel training
- Step 4: Pass your road test and apply for your CDL

Requirements to Get Started
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Hold a valid Minnesota Class D driver's license
- Obtain a DOT Health Card
- Register with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Have your CLP before starting road training

Kim Schaufenbuel
Kim Schaufenbuel has recently joined Riverland Community College and brings with her training experience in the key areas of Leadership, Safety, Community Organizing, and Business practices. Additionally, Kim’s training responsibility will include Mental Health First Aid, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Truck Driving, among other disciplines. Kim can provide a customized training solution for nearly any need presented in our communities.
