Nursing Leadership Academy

Whether you are new to leadership or simply looking to hone your leadership skills, this program will teach you effective leadership skills and demonstrate how to apply them in their nursing positions in long-term care.  Skills and behaviors will be practiced during the training sessions with expectations to apply them on the job.

Participants will complete training as part of a cohort, allowing networking opportunities that support your learning.   

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Explain the role of the team leader
• Apply leadership skills and behaviors: communicating expectations, listening and asking questions, building a positive and productive work environment, dealing with employee issues, coaching, professionalism, respect, and modeling professional behavior
• Demonstrate skills of managing conflict and dealing with employee situations that hamper productivity
• Practice skills on the job
