SLOAP is evidence that we are teaching and that students are learning. We provide this information as proof that Riverland meets national accreditation standards and as evidence of the excellent education students receive at our institution.
If you teach 6 credits or more per semester, then yes, you are required to design assessment plans and to collect and report data annually. The MSCF contract specifically mentions assessment as a duty of faculty. You do it all the time in your classes—SLOAP simply documents it.

The Riverland Assessment Committee is here to help you be successful and to make this work streamlined and simple.
The Riverland Assessment Committee offers one-to-one consultations for faculty who wish to discuss assessment-related topics. These sessions are entirely faculty-driven and focus on issues such as assessment tools and strategies, SLOAP website training, developing Program Graduate Outcomes, curricular mapping, and related topics.
