This course emphasizes the basic concepts of deck construction methods. The focus is on application and techniques necessary to select materials and construct decks, railing, and stairs. Students design, plan, and construct a deck that meets the minimum requirements of the International Residential Code. This course is part of the Carpentry program which is accredited by the Home Builders Institute (HBI) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Prerequisites: CARP 1110.(2 Credits – 1 lecture, 1 lab)
