6.8.1 Naming of Buildings, Sites & Common Areas Naming Opportunities & Levels Guide

Purpose

In recognition of major gifts or valid pledges for the minimum amount specified, the following naming opportunities exist:

Naming Opportunities and Amounts

Facilities

• New building: $4,000,000
• New addition or major renovation: $1,000,000 (25% of construction costs or $1M, whichever is greater)
• Existing building:
  • General classroom or lab: $100,000 and above
  • Auditorium/Theatre: $1,000,000 and above
  • Conference Room: $20,000 and above

Exterior Landscaping

Examples include plaza, courtyard, gardens, trails, benches, trees, and features. Minimum: cost of materials plus labor.

Professional Programs

• Endowed faculty chair: $1,500,000
• Visiting professor: $150,000
• Professional development general: $100,000
• Faculty/staff internships or sabbaticals: $50,000 and above
• Faculty/staff recognition: $10,000
• Employee special programs: $250,000

Academic/Student Programs

• New academic programs: $100,000 and above
• Existing academic programs: $100,000
• Speakers/guests/lecture series/outreach programs: $500,000
• Student endowed scholarships: $15,000 and above
• Distinguished student scholars: $25,000 and above
• Other student success/support programs: $50,000 and above
