Veteran's Education Benefits
Riverland Community College acts as a liaison with the Veterans Administration for individuals who wish to utilize their veteran's benefits.
To apply for veteran education benefits, visit the VA GI Bill website. Applications should be completed 8 to 10 weeks prior to the term for which benefits are requested.
You can also find details about education benefit programs on the same site. Once there, select “Education Benefits” for more information. You may also call 1-888-442-4551 to speak with a representative. For local assistance, contact Mark Larsen, Southeast Regional Coordinator at 507-779-9375 or mark.larsen@state.mn.us.
Eligible persons are reminded that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will not pay benefits for repeated or audited courses. In addition, benefits for short courses that do not meet for the entire term will be paid only for the days the class meets.
