Student Basic Needs Navigator

The Basic Needs Navigator can assist students with food insecurity, housing concerns, financial challenges, community referrals, and accessing available benefits and resources.

Basic Needs Support 24/7

211 is a free and confidential service that connects individuals with local community resources 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

211 specialists can help with food assistance, housing resources, utility assistance, transportation, healthcare services, financial support, and crisis services.

Access help by calling 211, texting MNHELP to 898-211, or visiting the 211 website.

Food Support

Riverland students have access to food and nutrition resources to help meet immediate and ongoing food needs.

SNAP Food Assistance

SNAP helps eligible individuals and families purchase groceries and nutritious foods. Students may qualify for SNAP benefits even if they have not qualified in the past.

Use Single Stop or contact the Basic Needs Navigator for help identifying food support options and other available programs.

Mental Health and Wellness Support

Basic needs and mental health are closely connected. Students experiencing stress related to finances, housing, food, transportation, or other life challenges may benefit from mental health support services.
