Commencement Eligibility
- Be a Fall 2025 graduate or have applied to graduate in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026
- Pick up your cap, gown, and tassel by May 1, 2026
Cap and Gown
Cap, gown, and one tassel are provided at no cost to graduating Riverland students.
Pickup begins Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Austin East Campus Riverland Bookstore during regular hours.
You can also order graduation regalia online .
Deadline: Cap and gown must be picked up by May 1, 2026.
If you already have a cap and gown from a previous year, bring it to the Bookstore for approval and to confirm your name on the Commencement list.
Guest Wristbands
When you pick up your cap and gown, you will receive up to four wristbands for guests to sit in the auditorium during Commencement.
Each guest must wear a wristband to enter the auditorium. One wristband is required per person.
Additional seating is available in the Ove Berven Gym at the high school. Wristbands are not required for gym seating.
The ceremony will be streamed online. You can watch the Commencement ceremony live or later .
Honors Recognition
Students who qualify for honors (based on cumulative GPA from their most recently completed term) may pick up:
- GPA 3.25 to 3.74: Honors cord
- GPA 3.75 to 4.00: Honors stole
For Commencement purposes, honors are based on your most recently completed term (typically fall semester).
Important: Spring semester grades will not be used to determine honors status for Commencement.
You can view your GPA in the eServices student portal under Academic Records.
Final honors status may change after all grades are posted.
