PSEO Eligibility Criteria

10th Grade (Sophomores)

• Meet or exceed the 8th grade Reading MCA with a score of 850 or higher.
  • If you do not qualify with your MCA score, participation begins in 11th grade.
• If the student did not take the 8th grade Reading MCA, the student must take Accuplacer Reading prior to acceptance. Students only have one attempt. Qualifies with a reading score of 250 or higher.
• Schedule an Accuplacer exam
• Accuplacer reading scores are accepted only if a student has not taken the MCA. Accuplacer does not replace a non-qualifying MCA score.
• If eligible, a student may enroll in one Career Technical Education (CTE) course during the first term.
• If the student earns a grade of C or better in that CTE course during the first term, the student may take additional postsecondary courses, including general education courses.

11th Grade (Juniors)

Meet at least one of the following:

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Qualifying assessment score:
  • 10th grade Reading MCA: 1042 or higher
  • Accuplacer Reading: 242
  • ACT Reading: 16
  • SAT Reading: 410
• Rank in the upper third of the graduating class

12th Grade (Seniors)

Meet at least one of the following:

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Qualifying assessment score:
  • 10th grade Reading MCA: 1030 or higher
  • Accuplacer Reading: 230 or higher
  • ACT Reading: 14
  • SAT Reading: 380
• Rank in the upper half of the graduating class
