Nursing (RN Track) Dual Admission Program - Starting Fall 2019


Why study the Nursing (RN Track) at Riverland?

    New Program Information

Riverland is now offering the Nursing (RN Track) Dual Admission Program partnership with Winona State University and is intended for students pursuing an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) intending to bridge to their Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. This program allows students to complete some credits towards a BSN while they are enrolled in the ADN Nursing Program.

  • At the time of enrollment to students may be admitted at Riverland and Winona State University.
  • Students in the nursing program can begin Winona State University upper-level division general education courses during any semester of their ADN coursework, provided they have completed prerequisite requirements.
  • Winona State University allows nursing students flexibility in obtaining their BSN degree. Students can obtain their BSN full-time or part-time.
  • Any student from Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, or Minnesota who is currently enrolled at Riverland is granted in-state tuition when they transfer to Winona State University (WSU). Contact WSU admissions for details.


    What will I study?

The Traditional RN Track

This track is intended for students that do not have an LPN license. If admission requirements are met, students will start out in the traditional track for attainment of their nursing degree. For more information, please see the Traditional RN Track Curriculum Plan.

The LPN to RN Track

This track is intended for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who want to become an RN. If admission requirements are met, LPNs will receive advanced standing in the RN program and will be granted 5 credits towards the attainment of their nursing degree.     Career Outlook
  • Once you are an RN you can work while you continue your Baccalaureate Degree- Dual Admission program allows ADN prepared RNs to complete their BSN degree seamlessly. The BSN courses are flexible for working RNs with full-time and part-time options. WSU courses are offered in online and blended/hybrid formats.
  • Dual Admission opens employment options- employers in the region prefer BSN prepared nurses. Your application to a dual admission program is an advantage to you seeking RN employment.

    Program Scholarships
