Take one class at a time with a cohort of fellow learners! All courses in the Business Certificate count toward Riverland’s Associate in Science (AS) Business Degree.
Program Guidelines
If you can answer yes to all the following statements, FlexPace may be a good fit. Otherwise, consider the regular Business Certificate program.
- I work full time and cannot attend traditional classes.
- I’m willing to commit weekly time to studying and completing course activities.
- I want to advance my career or move into another position.
- I’m committed to a fast-paced learning environment.
- I am a motivated, disciplined, self-starter.
- I will enroll in all eight courses included in the FlexPace program.

This program is offered online only and starts in the fall.
Steps to Enroll in Riverland’s Business Certificate FlexPace™ Program
- Complete the FlexPace Web Inquiry Form to identify yourself as a candidate.
- Review the Frequently Asked Questions document.
- Apply to Riverland
- Submit your high school and college transcripts
- Complete and submit the FlexPace Employment Verification Form.
- Complete your FAFSA financial aid application.
- Register for the Accuplacer (Math and Reading) test and New Student Registration.
A reading score of 63 is required to enter the program.
- Register for classes during New Student Registration.
Enrollment is limited. Complete your admission steps early to reserve your spot.
Accuplacer Score Guidelines
Reading Comprehension (Valid for 3 years)
- 78–120: ENGL 1101 – Freshman English
- 63–77: ENGL 0960 – College Prep English II
- 52–62: ENGL 0950 – College Prep English I
- 0–51: Meet with Riverland staff to explore options such as retesting, Adult Learning support, or ESLA program.
A score of 63+ also qualifies you for Business and Liberal Arts courses without prerequisites.
Business and Liberal Arts Courses: A score of 63 or higher indicates that you are prepared to register for any Business or Liberal Arts courses without prerequisites.
Math Placement (Valid for 2 years)
To place into College Algebra (MATH 1110), you need all of the following:
- 63–120: Reading Comprehension
- 76–120: Elementary Algebra
- 50–120: College Level Math
