Electric and hybrid vehicles are everywhere now, and they need technicians trained to work safely on high-voltage systems. Riverland's Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Technician certificate gives you that specialized training in a single semester (9 credits).

It's built for current automotive students and working technicians who want to add high-voltage skills and stay current with new vehicle technology. You'll learn to service the battery systems, electric drivetrains, and power electronics that set these vehicles apart.

Career outlook

Automotive service technicians stay in steady demand: about 70,000 jobs open across the U.S. each year as vehicles stay on the road longer and their systems grow more complex.² As more electric and hybrid vehicles reach the road, technicians who can safely service high-voltage systems are harder to find, so this specialization can help you stand out and move toward the higher end of the pay range. The median wage for automotive service technicians is $49,670, and the top earners make more than $80,850.¹
