Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Program)

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society for students at two-year colleges. PTK promotes scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.

Membership

Students are invited to join PTK after completing 12 college credits and earning a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Members must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. PTK students are in the top 10% of their class and graduate with honors.

Chapter Meetings

Meetings are held in the East Building on the Austin campus. Check the Riverland Calendar for times and updates.

Chapter Activities

  • Better World Books: Donate books to people in need in places like Africa, Afghanistan, and areas hit by natural disasters.
  • Do It in the Dark: Teach energy-saving habits to reduce power use.
  • Operation Green: Help clean and improve local neighborhoods.
  • Pennies for Peace: Raise money to support global education efforts.
  • Satellite Seminars: Watch and discuss videos about leadership, service, and education.

Educational Events

PTK offers learning opportunities for all students. Educational programming includes seminars and service projects that build leadership and teamwork skills.
