This is an introductory literature course designed to increase a student’s critical and analytical skills in reading. Included is a study of literature by genre, which may include the short story, drama, poetry, and the novel. Emphasis in the selections is on introducing students to the current nature and scope of literary studies. Critical and interpretive papers are required.
