Never Attended
Report a student who isn't attending class
Lets student services (advising, financial aid) know a student is on your roster but isn't attending or participating.
- When: Each day a student is absent during drop/add.
- Grades: A report does not give the student a grade.
Before you start
Log in with your StarID@minnstate.edu. Have ready:
- Course ID (ex: 000240)
- Subject and number (ex: BIOL1000)
- Section number (ex: 70)
- Student first and last name
- Student Tech ID
Now Attending
Update a student who started coming to class
Did you report a student as Never Attended who has since started coming to class? Use this form so student services has the latest information.
Before you start

Early Alert (EARS)
Refer a student who needs extra support
Refer a student to an advisor when they need help beyond normal class communication. Concerns may include:
- Attendance
- Academic progress
- Class engagement
- Time management
- Life circumstances affecting success
You can refer a student any time extra outreach could help them stay on track.
