Riverland's Hair Technician Program is an in-depth educational initiative designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in hair care within Minnesota. This comprehensive program encompasses a broad spectrum of topics including but not limited to hair styling, cutting, coloring, along with the scientific aspects of hair care such as product chemistry and hair disorders. The curriculum is further enriched with hands-on training, allowing students to apply their learning on mannequins and real clients under expert supervision, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional licensure. A significant focus is placed on practical skills like haircoloring, chemical treatments, and various styling techniques, alongside crucial soft skills like client communication and consultation. The program also emphasizes safety, sanitation, and salon management, preparing students for the business aspects of running a salon. To become a licensed hair technician in Minnesota, students must complete 900 hours of education covering a wide range of theoretical and practical topics, culminating in a series of tests to demonstrate their proficiency and readiness for the professional world of hair care.
