OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Course

This OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Course provides basic training on OSHA requirements and safety and health hazards within general industry.  

This course is intended for entry level employees and persons newly entering the workplace and are seeking basic training on OSHA and occupational hazards.  

Through the OSHA Outreach Training program, an OSHA-authorized Outreach trainer will deliver this course (1.5 days Actual Length). Upon successful completion students will earn the, “OSHA 10 Card for General Industry.” This completion card is provided by the OSHA Training Institute. 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand importance of OSHA in regulating employee safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge of employees' rights and employer responsibilities
  • Recognize various manufacturing processes, tasks, and equipment
  • Identify common hazards found in the workplace

Important: OSHA 10- and 30-hour courses are not prerequisites for the “OSHA 501 – Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry.”

To become authorized to teach OSHA Outreach courses, students must complete:

  • OSHA 511
  • OSHA 501

OSHA Outreach Training is voluntary and cannot be used to meet an employer’s required compliance training.
