Placement Testing / Accuplacer

How can I take the Accuplacer if I am a new student for Fall 2020?

  • Due to COVID we have reduced capacity for Accuplacer testing. Because of this, we are using Temporary Placement Guidelines so every student can be placed without having to take the Accuplacer. Make sure that your High School transcripts are submitted to Riverland along with assessment scores for ACT, SAT, and MCAs as we can use those to guide your course placement. Please also submit transcripts for any college-level coursework you have completed. If after determining your course placement, you and your Advisor/Counselor decide that taking the Accuplacer would be beneficial for you, they can help you get registered to test.

Is Accuplacer testing still being offered on campus?

  • There is limited Accuplacer testing available at this time due to social distancing guidelines. Because of this, we are using Temporary Placement Guidelines so every student can be placed without having to take the Accuplacer. If I don’t have an Accuplacer score am I able to register for classes?

  • Yes, please meet with your Academic Advisor/Counselor to help you determine your appropriate course placement and register for courses.
