COVID-19 Screening, Testing and Notification

Do I have to complete a self-screening before coming to campus?

  • To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to complete a daily self-screening on a daily basis. The screening tool is part of a system-wide initiative by the Minnesota State System office. www.riverland.edu/Screen

Will my temperature be taken when I enter campus, classroom, or an office?

What if I am experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever or feverish feeling, chills, a new cough, shortness of breath, a new sore throat, new muscle aches, new headache, new loss of smell or taste?

  • Isolate, seek medical advice, and do not come to campus. If the medical advice is to get tested, go to a testing site for a test. Do not take public transportation to the clinic. Isolate and wait the 2-4 days for the test result. If the test result is positive for COVID-19, contact the campus at concerns@riverland.edu

How do I report my positive COVID-19 test result?

  • If the test result is positive for COVID-19, then the student should contact the campus at concerns@riverland.edu

What if I have been in contact with someone that has COVID?

  • Current MDH recommendations include self-isolating for 14 days if you have close contact (within six feet) with a COVID-19 positive person.
  • Contact your faculty members to inform them that you will not be attending class.

What if a student is exhibiting symptoms or is not wearing a mask? What do I do?

In regard to a person exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms:

  • Students who wish to report concerns or issues about hygiene and respiratory etiquette can contact concerns@riverland.edu.

In regard to face-coverings:

  • Members of the Riverland community are expected to behave responsibly and show respect for the health and safety of others. Any employee, student, or visitor who fails to abide by this directive without an approved accommodation may be asked or directed to leave the campus. Faculty and staff who are so directed but fail to comply may be subject to discipline. Students who are so directed but fail to comply may be subject to student discipline.

Do I have to self-quarantine or take a COVID-19 test before returning to campus?

  • You are not required to self-quarantine before returning to campus but are required to complete a daily self-screening on a daily basis. However, we do ask that you follow the latest CDC guidelines upon returning if you have traveled out of the state or have been exposed to COVID-19.

Can I get tested on campus?

  • The College does not currently have the ability to test on campus please contact your local health resources.
