The annual Riverland Community College Ag Summit is for Producers, Food Processors, Agribusiness Professionals, Educators and Students.

Vision Statement: "Provide a gathering of current and future Agriculture and Food Science thought leaders who inform, share and help propel our students, the college and region towards its preferred future".

Mission Statement: "Deliver a meaningful annual Agriculture Summit that brings value to our communities and world".

Keynote Speaker - Patrice Bailey

Patrice Bailey, Assistant Commissioner

Patrice Bailey was appointed to the position of Assistant Commissioner in June 2019. Bailey oversees Outreach, Agricultural Marketing and Development, Dairy and Meat Inspection, and Food and Feed Safety for the MDA. Bailey, a native of Harlem, New York, holds a B.S. in Agriculture Education from Prairie View A&M University (Texas) and has a Master’s Degree in Agriculture from Iowa State University. He has served the Twin Cities in several positions focused on bridging underrepresented communities of color to various available resources and advocating for them legislatively at the Capitol. Most recently, he served as the Outreach Director for the Council for Minnesotans of African Heritag

Megan Roberts - Best Practices in Farm Succession Planning

Megan Roberts - University of Minnesota

Megan Roberts is a University of Minnesota Extension Educator in Ag Business Management. Her current work focuses on farm transition, farm resiliency and other risk management topics. She holds bachelor's and master's from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate from a joint program from Texas Tech and Texas A&M Universities. In addition to her professional background, Megan brings a personal perspective to farm transfer. Her parents recently transitioned their dairy to her brother and sister-in-law, while her husband and she have worked through a farm transition on the Roberts' family hog and crop farm. Riverland Farm Business Management Faculty will join Megan in sharing best practices from their years of working with farm families in the region.
