Meet new Volleyball Coach Sara Heim
Volleyball Playing Experience: Volleyball has been my sport of choice and my passion since I was ten when I started playing for Wabasha-Kellogg JO. This passion continued through high school; at Wabasha-Kellogg High school (all conference 2005), Southern Minnesota Volleyball JO for 2 years, then onto Ripon College (all conference 07, 08, 09).
Some of my achievements at Ripon College include:
- Record for most digs in Ripon history
- Second, third, fifth, and eighth in school history for digs in a single season
- Top seven marks in school history for digs in a single match
- 2009 MidWest Conference Performer of the Week
- 2009 Red Hawk of the Week Sept
- 2008 Red Hawk of the Week Oct
- 2007 Red Hawk of the Week Oct
- 2009 All Tournament Team
- 2008 All Tournament Team

Graduated from Ripon: BA Spanish
Coaching Experience: I've coached the younger clubs at Wabasha-Kellogg while I was a player myself. Then, while attending college in Ripon, I was the head coach for the 16's and 15's divisions for Riptide Volleyball Club; Assistant Coach at SMV for 16-2, head coach SMV 15-1; RYVA youth clinics and camps, and RCTC Assistant Coach.
Coaching allows me to share my love of the sport with current athletes. Over my career as a team member, I have experienced many different coaching styles and try to combine the strengths from each coach to become the best coach and mentor that I can be for my athletes to help them grow as a player and team member, and also as a person.
I look forward to working with my team at Riverland Community College and to continuing their success and competitiveness on the court.
