Meet the new Coach Al Eckmann

Al Eckmann joins the Blue Devil staff as the head women's softball coach. Al is no stranger to softball as he has been involved in athletics for over 40 years, including 20 plus years of softball experience. His won-loss record in high school was 222-80 ( including 56 consecutive wins over a period of 2 and 1/2 years). Included in that record was five MN State appearances, three state championships and one runner-up. His teams won seven Big Nine championships and he is co-owner of the Good.... Better.... Best Softball Camps, LLC. Included in Al's resume also is being on the University of Minnetota's Golden Gophers softball staff, as he served as an assistant for three years from 2004-07. Al is married to Jan and they have three boys and five grandchildren.

Assistant Coach Ron Bergstrom

Ron Bergstrom joins the Blue Devils as the assistant softball coach. Ron has had over 25 years of softball experience as a player and as a Coach. Ron has served as assistant coach at the Austin High School from 1989-1992 and head coach from 1993-1996. Ron is married to Mary and they have 1 son and 1 daughter.
