Health
Trained Medication Aide
This 48 hour course is designed to train unlicensed personnel to administer medications in a variety of health care settings. It includes the study of legal requirements concerning drugs and drug administration. General information about medications, terminology related to medication administration and use of reference sources will be studied. Students will learn actions, usual dose, toxic symptoms and special considerations of a variety of drugs. The course is designed to meet the curriculum standards established by the MN Board of Nursing for the training required to become a Trained Medication Aide (TMA). You can choose either location for training. Classes meet on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays of the listed dates. Cost for this course: $360.00 Please call for a registration form.

Trained Medication Aide Refresher
This four-hour course is designed for Nursing Assistants who hold a certificate in Medication Administration for Unlicensed Personnel and are currently working as a Trained Mediation Aide. Participants will be updated on current commonly prescribed LTC medications. This is a wonderful refresher for those TMAs who have not attended a program for one year or more. Leadership Development
This course introduces students to a variety of leadership traits and styles. Students will analyze and become familiar with a variety of leaders, both traditional and contemporary. Students will participate in an in-depth analysis of their own leadership styles and identify their strengths and weaknesses. Attention will be focused on developing their own leadership styles and on learning techniques to foster growth in other’s leadership capabilities. Students will be encouraged to apply their leadership skills on the job and receive feedback. Additionally, students will be introduced to strategic planning processes and encouraged to apply their leadership skills to such a process. Performance management is an umbrella term for the process of identifying, developing, and using an organization’s human resources. This process includes competency models, performance plans, goal setting, performance appraisals, recognition and coaching. Principles of Supervisory Leadership
Increase your potential in using effective supervisory skills. Learn skills you will need to lead in today’s workplace such as creating positive environments, understanding a manager’s role in the workplace, planning and problem solving. High Performance Engine Machining
The Machining course is divided into four sections: Advanced Engine Service (prerequisite for the other courses), High Performance Cylinder Heads, High Performance Cylinder blocks, and Advanced High Performance Engine Assembly.
