How do you get started as a PSEO Student?

We are pleased you are considering Riverland Community College as part of your educational career plan. Attached is all of the information needed to begin your post-secondary education with Riverland. In order for your enrollment to be a smooth process and to be sure it is the right choice for you, we have provided information in this packet for you and your parents. Please take time to read this information carefully.
  1. Talk it over with your parents.
  2. Obtain a PSEO Packet or download the forms from this website.
  3. Make an appointment with your high school counselor, (or parent for Home-Schooled students) to discuss your career plan and review your high school graduation requirements.
  4. With your counselor and parent (or just parent for Home-School students) complete the forms:
  5. Submit all completed forms with signatures from student, parents and High School counselor, along with your high school transcript to the Riverland Community College Admissions Office. (Home-School students do not need a counselor signature.)
  6. Allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing your application. Riverland Admissions will mail additional instructions detailing the process of enrollment once these essential forms are received and you have been accepted to the college.
  7. Follow the instructions in the letter!
  8. In this order, the next steps will be:
    • Take the Accuplacer/CPT which will determine placement in courses
    • Complete the Pseo On-Line Orientation.
    • Call and make an appointment to meet with a Riverland college counselor to register - after all of the other steps have been completed. 1-800-247-5039.

Where can application materials be found?

PSEO Application packets can be found in most high school guidance offices, college counseling and admissions offices, student services, and here on this website . There is a separate packet for Home-School Students (PSEO Home-School Forms). The packet includes the application to Riverland, the State PSEO Notice of Student Registration, the Riverland PSEO Agreement of Understanding and a Student/Counselor Planning Guide. Working with the high school counselor, and parents, all of these completed forms, plus a current high school transcript must be submitted to the Riverland Community College Admissions Office.

Note: For continuing PSEO students, documentation of enrollment must be provided each semester of PSEO enrollment. Prior to registering for college credits each semester, the student must meet with their high school counselor, or parent for Home-School students, and fill out the Student/Counselor Planning Guide, and the state's PSEO Notice of Student Registration. Students bring the two forms, along with a current high school transcript with them when they meet with the college counselor for registration into courses.
