Are you someone who likes challenges and can think under pressure?

Due to advancements in manufacturing technology, new career pathways are needed to be developed in order to provide the skills workers need to be successful in this changing manufacturing environment.  Southern Minnesota is considered to be a strong manufacturing sector in the State of Minnesota.  The surrounding counties in the Riverland Community College service area and in SE Minnesota are rich with manufacturing industries.

This Production Technician I certificate offers you a short, specialized, foundation of manufacturing education and skills which allows you the opportunity to be competitive and successful in entry level manufacturing production jobs.  This training will also provide the education and skills to build upon a manufacturing career path leading to higher level careers like Industrial Maintenance and Mechanics, Machine Tool, Manufacturing Technical Specialist, Engineering Technician, etc.

The Production Technician I certificate is an ideal choice for students with good mechanical aptitude who take pride in their workmanship and desire to work in the challenging manufacturing environment.  You can count on plenty of individual attention from instructors with extensive experience and knowledge.

Employment Outlook

Riverland graduates are in demand and can choose from great jobs with many local manufacturers.  You may even choose to continue your education to build on the skills you learn as a Production Technician I and advance yourself to become an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Welder, Machinist, and Manufacturing Technical Specialist, boiler operator or supervisor.
