Would you like to develop a solid business foundation to support your goals?

The Associate in Arts (AA) degree with a Business emphasis is designed specifically for liberal arts students who want to develop a strong business emphasis as they work toward transferring to a four-year university program. If you are undecided about your major, this could be an ideal choice for you. The Business credits required for this emphasis provide a clear perspective of business careers such as business administration, management, marketing, finance and economics. Earning your AA with a Business emphasis is equivalent to completing the first two years of a bachelors’ degree.

Smaller class sizes at Riverland mean that you get more personal attention from instructors and many students tell us this helps them establish a solid foundation for success. Traditional- and distance-delivered classes are distinct advantages of this program. If you desire, this major can be taken totally online.

Further Education: Additional educational opportunities are available through collaboration agreements that will enable you to have a smoother transition into a specific major. When you earn an AA Degree, you can take advantage of our collaboration with Southwest Minnesota State University in the Business Administration, BS/BA degree program and the Business Education Teaching program at Winona State University.

Please Note: There is an AS degree in Business which also requires 64 credits to graduate. It is designed for students who have decided to pursue a business career. Be sure to discuss these opportunities with your Program Advisor or Counselor.
