Do you want to move forward in your computer career?

Businesses depend more and more on wireless technologies in their everyday operations and the need for qualified wireless technicians is growing rapidly. This course offers a comprehensive overview of technologies, security and design best practices. As with existing courses offered by the Cisco Networking Academy, this program will combine hands-on experience, instructor-led training and e-learning for students. Students will learn to: design wireless networks; configure and install wireless access points, bridges, adapters, and antennae; troubleshoot wireless network design and configuration problems using CLI and Web-based Device Manager; configure security and authentication using MAC filtering, WEP, LEAP, EAP and 802.1x technologies.

Further Education: This certificate program provides a solid foundation for students who are seeking higher education goals. It will prepare you for electrical engineering or computer and management information systems degree programs. It will also prepare you for the Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist Certificate.

Employment Outlook

According to the U.S. Dept. of Labor, the computer industry is the top industry in terms of wage and salary employment growth for years 2002-2012. Employees holding a Cisco certification earn a base salary of $64,000 per year, not including signing or performance bonuses or other forms of non-salaried compensation. Graduates who succeed in earning the network industry standard certifications will find a variety of good career opportunities that pay exceptionally well.
