What can the Cisco Academy do for you?

The IT world runs on Cisco with 95 percent of today’s business equipment based on the Cisco system. Riverland’s Cisco Academy is well equipped to teach you the skills required to earn one of the most highly-valued certifications in the industry. Students who complete this four-semester course receive a voucher that entitles them to take the Cisco exam for a 50 percent discount. To make our state-of-the-art program even more appealing, Riverland’s Albert Lea campus has the only approved testing site in the area.

Look forward to gaining telecommunications expertise along with the hardware and software used in the IT industry. This standards-based, end-to-end, network-enhanced learning infrastructure supports highly scalable, flexible, advanced e-learning. The Cisco Global Learning Network program integrates authoring, management, and assessment with rich media content, delivery, and a network infrastructure.

Courses give students the foundation and apprentice knowledge of networking for the small office/home office market. The course certificate tracks directly to Comp TIA’s A+ and Cisco’s CCNA curriculum. It offers the advantage of the same curriculum around the world so employers can depend on standardized training. This is empowering for graduates because employers have confidence that Cisco-certified applicants will make a smooth transition into the workplace.

Students are required to purchase a computer to build in the CPRO1000 class. The computer will belong to them when the class is completed.

Employment Outlook

Riverland graduates are well prepared to excel in their chosen career. The average Cisco-Certified professional starts out earning $25,000 to $40,000 per year. If you work close to a metro area, you can earn a higher salary. Some of our graduates are earning $60,000 per year and up!

CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks, including many different protocols. Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) reports show that thousands of IT-related jobs go unfilled each year and the five hottest, in-demand jobs now and in the future are technical support, network design/administration, programming and software engineering, Web development, and database development and administration. Another study emphasized that the more certifications an IT professional has, the more he or she tends to get paid. Cisco and its partners within the Education Ecosystem work to ensure that a steady flow of qualified, competitively trained IT workers enter the workforce on an ongoing basis.
