Whenever possible, decisions to cancel day classes will be made by 6:00 a.m. and decisions
to cancel evening classes will be made by 3:00 p.m. Students are not expected to attend
school if:
- classes are canceled; or
- school is closed
Weather-related school closings will also be communicated on the Riverland Web site home
page at www.riverland.edu.
Riverland Community College has two campuses and a facility in Owatonna; weatherrelated
announcements will affect all sites.
Riverland Community College will seldom cancel classes or close. Students must make the
decision to travel based on road conditions in their immediate area. Students and their
instructors are responsible for making arrangements when weather has caused a student to
miss class.
The closure of state agencies by the Commissioner of the Department of Employee
Relations does not apply to Riverland Community College.
Students who require special notification in weather or other emergency situations are to
make arrangements with Gary Schindler, Dean of Students. |
