Derek Hahn

Derek enters his first season as head men's basketball coach at Riverland Community College. The Lakeville, MN native is no stranger to the Blue Devils as he played two seasons for RCC (2008-2010). Hahn returned to the sideline for the Blue Devils in 2013-2014 working as an assistant under then head coach Scott Koenigs. Derek’s primary responsibilities were on the defensive end of the floor, recruiting, & scouting opponents. Hahn and the coaching staff led the Devils to a 16-11 regular season finish, which qualified the team for the regional tournament for the first time in seventeen years! During his time with the Devils as a player, Derek was known for his ability to shoot the basketball from long range. In his two seasons with RCC Hahn compiled a shooting clip of 41% (93/227) from distance. As a sophomore with the Devils Hahn was voted captain and at the end of the school year was elected "Male Athlete of the Year" at Riverland. After RCC Derek went on to play two seasons at Presentation College an NAIA school located in Aberdeen, SD. Hahn captained the Saints for his two seasons under Head Coach Jeremy Reigle. In Derek's senior campaign the Saints finished 15-10 which was the best record at PC since the 2003-2004 season.

In the Spring Derek also works with the baseball program at Riverland as an assistant under Coach Koenigs. Hahn started at catcher for Riverland in 2009 & 2010. During both of those seasons RCC sent back to back clubs to the JUCO World Series in Tyler, TX.

Assistant Coach Eric Perry

Eric enters his first season as an assistant coach at Riverland Community College. Eric joins the Devils all the way from Corona, CA. He graduated with a degree in business administration with a minor in sports management from Crossroads College in Rochester, MN. Coach Perry's coaching career has taken him all over the world at a variety of levels. Upon his graduation from Crossroads he was immediately added to the Knights coaching staff as an assistant coach for one season (2011-2012). After one season as an assistant Eric was promoted to head coach at Crossroads for the 2012-2013 season. Coach Perry then moved back to his home state California where he coached two years at Norco High School. During his time with the Cougars his primary role was player development. Coach Perry helped Norco send their very first Division 1 athlete in school history to San Jose State.

Eric stays active over the summer with the AAU circuit. Last year Coach Perry worked as an assistant with the 17u Compton Magic. Eric has had the opportunity to travel overseas and coach the Canada All - Star Team in China on a tour playing against CBA and NBL teams. In addition to that Eric has coached in the world renowned summer pro-am The Drew League and also worked at Kobe Bryant's Basketball Academy. During his four year playing career at Crossroads (2007-2011) the Knights accumulated a 61-47 record. Eric went out with a bang helping the Knights to a 20-10 record his senior season.
