Head Coach Scott Koenigs

Scott Koenigs

Scott Koenigs is in his first season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Riverland Community College. Koenigs' basketball coaching experience includes 7 years as a Head High School Basketball Coach and 3 years as Assistant Basketball Coach at the college level. Coach Koenigs has also directed several basketball camps. Coach Koenigs was the director of the I-90 Basketball Camp for 3 years and was a member of Roy Williams Basketball Camp staff & a member of Clem Haskins Basketball Camp staff.

A native of Adams, MN, Koenigs has a Social Studies Composite Bachelors of Science Degree from Winona State University and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Kansas in Sport Administration. Coach Koenigs currently resides in Rose Creek, MN with his wife, Kerri, and their 22 month old twins, Brynlee and Brekken.

Assistant Coach Ryan Wiechmann

Ryan Wiechmann

Coach Wiechmann is also beginning his 1st year as assistant coach with Head Coach Scott Koenigs. Coach Wiechmann was an Assistant Coach for Dan Swift for 3 years at Riverland Community College from 2008-2011. Ryan was a starter for Coach Koenigs for two years at Lyle High School where they proved to be very successful together; winning more than 40 games in two years. "Coach Koenigs is a disciplined person and knows how to win. I know what Scott expects from his players both on and off the hard court and I am looking forward to working with him again."

Wiechmann, a native of Lyle, MN, is currently finishing his undergraduate degree in Education at Winona State University. Ryan also works as a paraprofessional at Austin Public Schools. Ryan and his wife, Nicole, reside in Austin, MN.

Student Assistant Coach Richard Burch

Richard is beginning his 1st year as a student assistant coach at Riverland Community College. Richard played 2 years at Riverland Community College from 2009-2011. Richard started 1 year and averaged 8 ppg and 6 rpg for the Blue Devils. Burch is an Atlanta, Georgia native and will graduate from Riverland in the Spring of 2012. Richard is engaged to Ms. Selena Gindratt and resides in Austin, MN.

Assistant Coach Craig Doty

Craig Doty is in his first season as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for Riverland Community College. Doty's coaching experience includes stops as an Assistant at the 2-year level (Central Wyoming College), Assistant at the 4-year college level (Morningside College, IA), a year as a Head Coach at the high school level (Akron-Westfield, IA) and a stint as Interim Head Men's Basketball Coach at the D1 Junior College level (Central Wyoming College).

A native of Alcester, SD, Doty graduated from Morningside College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and a minor in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Organizational Performance. Doty and his wife, Lisa, reside in Austin, MN with their three-year old son, Braylon.
