Derek enters his first season as an assistant coach under Coach Koenigs at Riverland Community College. The Lakeville, MN native is no stranger to the Blue Devils or Coach Koenigs as he played two seasons for RCC (2008-2010). During his time with the Devils, Derek was known for his ability to shoot the basketball from long range. In his two seasons with RCC Hahn compiled a shooting clip of 42% (84/200) from distance. As a sophomore with the Devils Hahn was voted captain and at the end of the school year was elected "Male Athlete of the Year" at Riverland. After RCC Derek went on to play two seasons at Presentation College an NAIA school located in Aberdeen, SD. Hahn captained the Saints for his two seasons under Head Coach Jeremy Reigle. In Derek’s senior campaign the Saints finished 15-10 which was the best record at PC since the 2003-2004. Derek once again shot the ball with success finishing his senior year at 44.3% (35-79) from beyond the arch.
In the Spring Derek will also work under Coach Koenigs as a baseball assistant with the Devils. Hahn started at catcher for Riverland in 2009 & 2010. During both of those seasons RCC sent back to back clubs to the JUCO World Series in Tyler, TX.
