Library Notices
The libraries send a variety of notices to our patrons. All
notices are sent to Riverland student e-mail. Information about
e-mail can be found on the Computer
Resources links.
Overdue Notices: Patrons will receive a notice for
item(s) not returned to the library by the due date in their Netmail email account. These
notices are sent as a courtesy and failure to receive/respond to the notice does
not relieve your obligation to pay late fees. For most
items, the library charges a $5.00 processing fee when an item(s) is returned
late. This applies to all circulating items. Different fees are assessed
for reserve materials.
Avoiding Late Charges: Items can be renewed online
accessing your
borrowing record. A library card number and password are
required. Reserve materials cannot be
renewed. To avoid late charges, return reserve materials on or before
the due date.
- enter your patron barcode and password. Help
- click on 'loans'
- click on the 'number' of each item to be renewed
- if a renewal is allowed, the word 'renew' is highlighted as a link on the
screen
- if the item is not renewable, please call the library for assistance
Interlibrary Loan Notices: Patrons will receive a notice
in their Netmail email when
interlibrary loan items have arrived for pickup. If patrons have
requested an e-delivery of a journal articles, notices for pickup will be posted
to Netmail email account.
Recall Notices: In some cases the library will need to
recall an item for use by another patron. This normally happens when an
item has been renewed by a borrower and needed by another patron. These
notices will also appear in your Netmail email account. Failure
to respond to the recall will generate a fine for the item.
Hold Notices: A hold is a request initiated by a patron
for a book that is currently in use. Hold notices will be emailed to a
patron when the requested item has been returned to the library. Holds
can be picked up at the circulation desk.
