Faculty Services
Library
Instruction The faculty librarian is an instructional partner
with the classroom instructor. They should collaborate to meet the informational
needs of the students. Successful library instruction needs to be assignment
based and can take the form of a general library overview or a subject specific
assignment. The librarians would like to work with the classroom instructor to
design library instruction relevant to the class. Contact Kathleen
Nelson or Angie
Schaper to schedule tours or instruction
sessions.
Reserve
Materials Materials can be placed on reserve by the faculty
for their students to use. Loan periods for materials are designated by faculty.
Faculty can also choose to have the item designated as in library only use.
Forms to place items on reserve are available at the circulation desks.
Materials to be placed on reserve require a 24 hour processing period. To borrow
materials, students must have a student ID card. Fines will be charged on
overdue items. Students can search for your reserve items using
the Riverland Books.
Library
Cards Students are required to have a student identification
card to check out materials. This includes reserve materials. These
cards can be obtained free of charge from the student services centers in all
three campus locations. Staff members should get a photo ID in
the student service centers on each campus. More
information.

Interlibrary Loan
Service ILL is a service for Riverland students, faculty, and
staff that allows our patrons to request books and other materials from other
libraries in
Minnesota. Patrons should make interlibrary loan request through MNPALS. Further information on interlibrary loan can be found on the
library website/library services for you. Patrons should allow one-week for
books and other items to be delivered to Riverland. Books and other items
can be picked up and returned at the library circulation desk. Paper copies of
journal articles do not have to be returned. Patrons can choose
e-delivery of journal articles. E-delivery messages will go to your
GroupWise e-mail address.
