Persistent Links
Persistent or durable links are used to identify and access a specific article, ebook, film or image. A persistent link is a URL that will remain stable over time and allows a user to access the linked document at a later time. Riverland library patrons must have a Riverland ID card to access persistent links from off campus.

Films On Demand Access Riverland Library Search or browse for film Click on film title or play video Each segment has a unique URL Scroll down screen to the details tab Just below that information is a box labeled "title URL" Copy and paste in your document, D2L links, etc. Do not use the URL identified in the browser navigation bar
Proquest Databases (newspapers articles, nursing & allied health journals) Access Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article Make sure the article you choose has full text available Click on either the 'citation' or 'abstract' link In the document view look for the 'copy link' button at top of page Copy the entire URL (will be lengthy) Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L All content including videos, have persistent links.
EBSCO Databases (academic, business, etc. journal & magazine) Access Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article Make sure the article you choose has full text available Click on the title of the article In the document view looks for the 'persistent link to this record' Copy the entire URL (will be lengthy) Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L
Nursing Made Incredibly Easy & Other Nursing Journals via Ovid Access the journal Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article Click on Ovid Full text In the single document view click on 'email jumpstart' -- this should appear just below the cover picture on right side of page Copy URL link that appears after the words,'Your jumpstart URL is:' Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L
CQ or Global Researcher Access Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article In the report view, go to the last page of the report 'Document URL:' identifies the persistent link Copy the entire URL Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L URL also appears under the "CiteNow!" button
Health Reference Center The URL in this database is not correct, please check with library for correct URL. Access Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article Scroll to the bottom in the page view for a single article or reference entry Copy the 'record URL' Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L Email this URL to library@riverland.edu Correct URL will be returned via email All content including videos, have persistent links.
Gale Databases (includes Nursing Resource Center) The URLs in these databases are not consistent please check with library for correct URL. Access Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate article Open citation or full text Upper left corner, click on 'infomark' Email this URL to library@riverland.edu Correct URL will be returned via email All content including videos, have persistent links.

Artstor Access Artstor Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the appropriate image Double click on the description below the image Click on the "file propoerties" tab Each image in Artstor has a unique URL
Culturegrams Database The URL in this database is not correct, please check with library for correct URL.
