Library Authentication Login (off campus)
Off campus access to our magazine and newspaper databases is done
through a proxy server. This server called Ezproxy, will allow our patrons
to access our databases with a library card number and library password. Patrons
must have an active Riverland
library card.
How To Access Databases:
To access the database from off campus select the database you want to search
from the Journals and
Newspaper webpage.
You will be taken to an 'Login for Off Campus...' screen that will request
the following:
Box 1. Your Username = Your library barcode (beginning with 20207) Box 2.
You Password = Your last name Click on Login
Most browsers are configered to accept cookies by default and no action is
required. If your cookies are not enabled, see
instructions.
Proxy servers may not work if you try to access the sites from a location
with a institutional firewall (such as from your place of employment). The
product will work on your home computer if you use a personal firewall product
(i.e. MacAfee or Symantiec), but you may have to change the security level.
Contact your internet service provider or firewall manufacturer for assistance.
Last names with apostrophes should be typed without apostrophy, i.e.,
O'Douglas would be entered as odouglas.
Tips: Once Ezproxy has has been accessed, the
user can move from one database to another without signing in again so long as
the search does not 'time out.' If using Firefox browser and login fails,
try Internet Explorer, sometimes it works better.
