Ebooks

Riverland library has access to collections of electronic books, Credo Reference, Marshall Cavendish,  Netlibrary and Gale Virtual Reference Library, that can be accessed on or off campus. 

Using NetLibrary
Net Library books are a special collection of full text electronic books.  
Netlibrary can be accessed directly or searched by using the Riverland Catalog.

NetLibrary can be accessed from off campus through our proxy server. After searching the library catalog and clicking on the electronic link, patrons will be require to authenticate with library barcode number and password.

  • To use ebooks from our online catalog click the electronic link in the detailed record.
  • Access the full text of the book by clicking on " View this eBook."
  • Table of contents should appear on the left side of the screen.
  • Follow the links to each chapter of the book.
  • Full text of the book will be displayed on the screen and printing can only be done frame by frame.  
  • Patrons cannot print an entire chapter or even large portions of chapters. 
  • Some ebooks cannot be printed.
  • Books can be "checked out" for a four (4) hour period of time.   During this checkout period, books are not available for use by other patrons.  
  • If a book is currently being used by a patron, even if it is not "checked out" it cannot be accessed by another patron until the patron using the book ends the current session.

Using Credo Reference
Credo Reference is a collection of traditional reference books normally found in library reference collections. 
Credo Reference should be accessed directly from the library website as they are not yet a part of our online catalog. 

  • Types of reference books include, encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographies, quotations, bilingual dictionaries, crossword solvers, measurement conversions and more.
  • Use the "Find a book" feature to directly access a specific titile.
  • An image search is available.
  • Search results will lead to related resources in other databases in the Riverland library collection.
  • Tools for viewing, saving and printing are listed on the right side of screen.
  • Search help in available from the provider.
  • Credo Reference can be accessed from off campus through our proxy server.

Using Gale Virtual Reference Library
Gale Reference books are a special collection of full text electronic books.   
Gale Reference can be accessed directly or searched by using the Riverland Catalog.

  • Gale Reference can be accessed from off campus through our proxy server.
  • Click the electronic link in the detailed record to see the book
  • Screen allows a search within the publication or use the table of contents link or the index link
  • Books can be viewed and printed in a PDF format
  • Tools for viewing, saving and printing are listed on the right side of screen

Using Marshall Cavendish Collection
The Marshall Cavendish Reference books are a special collection of full text electronic books.   
Marshall Canvendish can be accessed directly or searched by using the Riverland Catalog.

  • MC titles can be accessed from off campus through our proxy server.
  • Click the electronic link in the detailed record
  • Individual entries have a print or email option
  • Citation information is supplied
  • Limited images are available
