Course Reserves

Reserve materials, often called course reserves are supplementary materials owned by a faculty member or department. Course reserves are placed in the library for a limited amount of time to be used by Riverland students.

General Information

  • Albert Lea and Austin often have different reserve materials
  • Students can search the Riverland Catalog to identify current course reserve materials
  • Loan periods for materials are determined by the faculty and usually very limited
  • Some items on an 'in library only use' reserve status, cannot be taken out of the library
  • Course reserves are not available in Albert Lea or Owatonna
  • Reserve collections are stored at the circulation desk in each library
  • To borrow materials, students must have a library card
  • Reserve materials cannot be renewed
  • Fines are charged on overdue items
  • Some items have fines that accrue daily if overdue.

At the present time we do not have a system to supply course reserves for distance or students on the Albert Lea or Owatonna campuses.
