| Persistent Links from Library Databases: Persistent
links are used to allow students to access journal and newspaper articles by
clicking on a link that will take them directly to the article or
ebook. These persistent links can be used in documents, power point
presentations or in D2L. Persistent links are also used on our Course
Quickstart pages.
Proquest
Databases (newspapers, nursing & allied health) Access
Riverland Library Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search
for the appropriate article Make sure the article you choose has full
text available Click on either the 'citation' or 'abstract' link In the
document view look for the 'copy link' button at top of page Copy the entire
URL (will be lengthy) Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator
in D2L All content including videos, have persistent links.
EBSCO
Databases (academic, business, etc.) Access Riverland Library
Choose database Authenticate (if off campus) Search for the
appropriate article Make sure the article you choose has full text
available Click on the title of the article In the document view looks
for the 'persistent link to this record' Copy the entire URL (will be
lengthy) Paste the URL into the chosen document or link creator in D2L
EBooks Access
the online catalog Search for an ebook Display single record Copy URL
