Owatonna Students
Contact Information: Owatonna students
are encouraged to call either the Austin Library at 507-433-0533 or Albert Lea
Library at 507-379-3368 with their library needs. Questions can also be sent email to the library.
Student Identification Cards: Owatonna
students can obtain a student identification card at the Student Services desk
at the Owatonna College & University Center. This card is also the student
library card. More information about library
cards.
Online Databases: Access to online
databases can be found on the Journals &
Newspapers page of the library website. All of the databases listed on
this page can be accessed using a computer on the Owatonna campus. Off campus
use can be done via our proxy
server.
Access to Online Databases
The Riverland online database can be accessed from remote
locations (off campus) using our proxy
server. More information can be found about the proxy server on the
library help webpage.
When on campus, the online databases are available on any
campus at any computer station.
Online Catalog: Our online catalog, Riverland
Books, is used for finding books, videos and reserve materials that are
available in our libraries. Instructions for delivery of items that can be sent
to the Owatonna campus, is on the intercampus
delivery page. There is an online
tutorial available to help with searching.
Interlibrary Loan: Owatonna students
have access to interlibrary loan services. Information on where and how to
search can be found on our interlibrary
loan page.
Journal/Magazine Articles: Paper copies of journal and magazine articles from the Austin and
Albert Lea libraries can be sent or faxed to the Owatonna College &
University Center. Email the library and
remember to include:
*your name
*name of the journal/magazine
*title of the article
*date of the journal/magazine
*page numbers or article
Reserve Materials: Items in the course
reserve collection at Austin can be delivered to students at the Owatonna
College & University Center. Four days is added for delivery/return to
allow students full loan periods to use the materials. Materials can be
picked up and returned to the Student Services Desk at Owatonna. Please be
aware that fines accrue daily on overdue course reserve items. Course reserves
can be searched in the online
catalog course reserve collection. The library will not send course reserve
items to Owatonna that have a loan period shorter than 3 days. Please
contact your instructor concerning use of these items.
