Course Reserves
Reserve materials, often called course reserves are
supplementary materials owned by a faculty member or department. Course reserves
are placed in the library for a limited amount of time to be used by Riverland
students.
Albert Lea and Austin often have different reserve
materials. Patrons can search to find information on course reserves.

search to find information on course reserves in the MnPALS. Use the drop box under 'Library
to Search' to choose course reserves.
Loan periods for materials are determined by the
faculty and usually very limited. Faculty can choose to place items on an 'in
library only use' reserve status, meaning items cannot be taken out of the
library. These items will not be sent to Owatonna for use, please contact your
instructor concerning use of these items.
The reserve collection is stored at the circulation desk
in each library. To borrow materials, students must have a
library card. Reserve materials cannot be renewed. Fines are charged on overdue
items.
Students at the Owatonna campus can request course reserve
materials if the loan period is 3 days or more. Items will be shipped by
intercampus mail.
Course reserve materials that have overnight, one or two
day loan periods will need to be checked out and returned to the owning
library. Overdue fines will apply for items returned through intercampus
mail if items are late. |
