Admission and Travel Information Traveling to the United States need not be a difficult process, especially if you are organized and knowledgeable about how to avoid any inconveniences during your trip here. Your visa documents allow your entry into the U.S. and should be carefully arranged and kept together at all times. What are the weather conditions in Austin, MN?
Austin has relatively cold winters and pleasant summers. You will need a good, warm jacket or coat starting in about October and lasting through April or May. The summer heat sets in around the middle of May and continues through the middle of September. Austin gets heavy snow every year.
What airport is the closet to Austin?
The nearest airport to Austin, Minnesota, is in Rochester, Minnesota. Because the Rochester airport is only 40 minutes from Austin, MN we would prefer that you fly into the Rochester airport. We also have the Minneapolis-Saint Paul-Intl'-Airport (MSP) it is about a two-hour drive away from Austin.
How do I get from the airport to Austin?
If you notify your international advisor well in advance we can arrange transportation for you. If possible, please arrange your travel plans with family or friends that you have in the area.
Where can I live in Austin?
When coming to a new town, housing is usually one of the biggest worries. We do offer on-campus housing.
