Those graduating more than six years after the date of the first enrollment must meet the requirements stated in the catalog which is in effect the year in which graduation occurs, unless an exception is authorized.

Graduation lists will be posted in each building and information will also be posted on the campus bulletin boards and monitors.

When an application for graduation has been approved, the applicant's cumulative GPA at the end of the most recently completed term will be used to determine whether a student will be recognized as a Distinction or High Distinction graduate for the Commencement ceremonies.
Students who have a GPA of 3.75 or above will be listed as High Distinction graduates in the graduation program and allowed to wear a gold honors stole. Students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.74 will be recognized as Distinction graduates in the graduation program and allowed to wear a gold cord.
Honors designations noted on the student's final transcript will be based on the cumulative GPA calculated after the completion of the program. Notations will be added to the transcript concurrently with the degree, diploma, or certificate earned.
Phi Theta Kappa members will be recognized as such in the graduation program. Those who have achieved High Distinction status will also wear the gold stole and those who have achieved Distinction status will wear the two color honors cord.  Stoles and cords purchased directly from Phi Theta Kappa may only be worn if the member has reached Riverland's Distinction or High Distinction status.
