Streater Inc., headquartered in Albert Lea, recently donated a late model Volvo semi truck to Riverland's diesel technology program. The vehicle, valued at $12,000 will be used for student learning. The students will be able to perform a variety of preventive maintenance, adjustments, simulated repairs, and troubleshooting on the vehicle.
Streater Inc. manufactures a line of premier store fixtures and eye–catching point–of–purchase displays.
The diesel technology program teaches students to diagnose and solve diesel equipment problems on commercial vehicles and agricultural implements. Students can choose to seek a diploma in either or both skill areas. They begin by learning theory of operation for modern diesel-powered equipment and progress to basic maintenance procedures and minor repairs. Advanced training includes diagnostic skills for many vehicle systems including those that are electronically controlled. |
